Title: Terastation III - Emergency Mode - Stuck
Post by: rohded on June 18, 2022, 01:39:12 PM

Hello Team,

I recently got a Terastatiion III which after installing drives, is showing in Emergency Mode.

I have talked to Buffalotech (very helpful IMO) and sent me to the forums.   I have downloaded the latest firmware for it  (1.76) but can't get it installed.

He suggested I go to the forum and try to get some older versions to try.

Can I get help on this part?

Regards

Rohded

The latest version should work. If you provide more detail about what you've tried we might be able to tell what the problem is.

I keep getting the "Partition table not found, aborting upgrade"

I tried the latest version but the option to format/parition it is grayed out.   All other options available under Debug mode.

It was the Buffalotech who told me try an older versions

Annoyingly, they started disabling that button on some newer firmwares. I didn't realize they had for this model.

I wrote up a method to work around it in this post:

I'll try to remember to add that info to the wiki as well.

I found an earlier version 1.62 that did have the format avaialble.

It did redo the drives but when the firmware went on it came back in japanese.

I also found a forum article / YouTube to fix that.

I am good to go now.

What in the world...why on earth would they do that? That is annoying.
