Title: TeraStation Hostname
Post by: ondrik on November 20, 2008, 03:55:04 AM

Hi, my company have pucharsed Buffalo TeraStation (TS-1.0TGL/R5) we want it to connect to domain. But we have restrictions for used hostname of each computer. It has to be 15 characters long (no way to change) and here comes the problem with TeraStation - hostname field in web administration can't be longer than 12 characters...

Any idea?

Unfortunately, all of our NAS devices have that restriction. I will forward up a feature request to extend the hostname size restriction, and hopefully we will have a firmware adjusting that soon.
