I have been having lots of problems with my linkstation(LS-WTGL) the last couple of days. I have been trying to troubleshot it but with little success. The front lights are no longer green but the top one is blue and their is a red light in the middle that I have never seen before. I have read many forms on resetting the linkstation by holding down the function button, which turned the LED back to green but had no other effect. I also cannot install new firmware on the device because nothing can detect it. I am rather computer literate but I always have difficulty troubleshooting network problems.

Can you check if your unit is "Made in China" or "Made in Japan" ? It should be written behind the unit just below Buffalo Inc.

Can Nas Navigator detect the NAS?

The unit was made in china NAS cannot detect it and I have been unable to ping it mostly because I'm not all to sure on how to do that. The problem is that when I turn The unit on The power led flashes blue. If I hold down The function button a red light goes on But doesn't flash. I have tried to reset The unit by holding down The function button for 6 seconds then waiting for it to start up then holding it again. But all that did is make The leds green again like they are supposed to be But I still cannot detect it on my computer.

It looks like you have lost the boot image possibly.  You will need to contact your regional support.
