I have been using the LS-XL at home for years without any issue. IP setting is DHCP. I installed the unit in office few days ago, and made an attempt to set fix IP for the unit. Immediately after that, my PC cannot access the unit on the network anymore. The NAS Navigator 2 still can see icon of the unit but with a "!" stamp. By clicking the icon, I still can go to IP setting page where I can still choose DHCP, Renew IP address etc, the unit response asking for adm password. After entered, it seems running but return error message "No reply from drive."

I disconnected the unit from office, and connected it back to home network. Sitaution remains same that I cannot access and change the IP setting. There is no function button on my unit. Wonder what can I do to reset the unit to its default setting or etc..

What is the IP of the NAS now and what is the IP of the PC you're trying to access it from?

My PC IP is 192.168.0.12. My LS-XL IP was set as 210.3.96.6 which seems to be incorrect that the Navigator 2 program on my PC cannot locate the NAS unit. I simply don't know how to reset the IP address of the LS-XL unit.

210.3.96.6 is a WAN IP, not a local LAN IP. Can the Nas Navigator software detect the unit at the moment to confirm what it's current IP address is?

Thanks for helping. You are right that 210.3.96.6 is WAN IP, which I had mistakenly set it as the fix IP address for the LS-XL. Immediately after that, the Navigator 2 on my PC could not access the LS-XL any more after repeating attempt. I try to scan the network with apps on my smart phone also failed to see the LS-XL connected to the router. I had tried to disconnect the LS-XL from the router and connect it directly to my PC, the Navigator 2 on my PC still not able to find the LS-XL unit. Now have no clue how to reset the LS-XL unit to its factory default setting, because the unit has no function button or etc for resetting purpose.

I am sorry for my delayed reply due to different time zone.

Is the power LED on it solid or flashing? When scanning using the NAS Navigator software make sure ALL security software on the PC is disabled including the windows firewall and any 3rd party anti virus or malware.

I switched off the 3rd party antivirus and firewall and the Window firewall. Search the LS-XL by the Navigator 2 software again. Situation remains similar. Some error messages "LS-XL52D is not set correctly. Use time and date from your computer?". I click yes. Another error message "Could not set system clock. Failed to change the IP address of LS-52D".

The blue light flash for 1-2 minutes when power of th LS-52XD was switched on. After that, it becomes a solid light. When Navigator 2 search for unit, it remains as solid light.

Wonder if anything else I can try to reset the LS-52XD.

Managed to find out how to post image file to forum. After the LS-XL52D is connected to the router and power on till the blue light turns solid. I run the NAS Navigator 2 on my PC. The image below

The blue light on the unit remains solid during operaton above. When the 5th image shows up, there is an error message at bottom of the screen "Communication error with LS-XL52D". The unit seems stuck with the wrongly setup IP address and cannot be reset.

Connect the Linkstation directly to a laptop, change the IP address of the LAN card of the laptop to 210.3.96.1, subnet 255.255.255.0.

Then see if you can access the linkstations settings page on 210.3.96.6.

If so reenable DHCP on the LS and connect back to the router.

I opened the Ethernet port IP setting. Enabled manual IP setting and chose IPv4. Besides of entry for IP address and Subnet Mask based on your suggestion, it also requires to enter Gateway, Primary DNS and Secondary DNS which I am not sure what to put in. It doesn't allow me to save the setting. Please advise how to fill up the rest in order to save the setting.

gateway, Primary and secondary DNS can be left blank.

After a few attempts, successfully reset the LS-XL52D IP to DHCP after connecting it directly to my PC and manually set the PC lan port IP according to your suggestion. It now resumed normal connecting through router. Problem is resolved. Thank you very much.
