Title: Linkstation mini + ubuntu + samba Permission denied
Post by: ubi on January 16, 2010, 04:31:23 AM

Hallo,

i have a linkstation mini and want to mount a shared folder via samba on my linux ubuntu box.

I can mount the shared folder without any probems, but i can not create any file in the mount directory, i can see the message : "cannot touch 'new_file': permission denied

The shared folder has no access restrictions on the linkstation. Forthermore i have tried the same with access restrictions, but it shows the same behaviour.

With the mout command i can see the new directory:

//192.168.0.51/music on /srv type cifs (rw,mand)

I this a linux/samba linkstation connections problem? Is the samba implementation incompatible with the linkstation? I am using ubuntu 9.10 and Samba 3.0.30-1.4.osstech.

Any suggestion?

Regards Florian

   I have found the solution. You have to mount the share with the 'noperm' option. mount.cifs //$IP_ADR/share_name $HOME/mountpoint -o user=$USER,password=$PASSWD,rw,noperm Florian
