Title: Can I backup from a Linkstation LS-CHLv2 to a LinkStation HD-HLAN(LS1)
Post by: mrwongs on January 16, 2010, 01:10:32 AM

HI,

I have just recently purchased a LS-CHLv2 and was planning to backup over the network to an old Linkstation HD-HLAN(LS1) that is on the same home network. Both Linkstations are visible to NAS Navigatior, but for some reason I cannot choose the (LS1) via the web admin for the LS-CHLv2, can someone please show me how to add the LS1 to the backup targets list so that I can schedule a backup.

Thanks

No, they do not have compatible kernels nor are the versions of Rsync they use for backups compatible.

The HD-HLAN is simply too old. It would work with a linkstation of it's own generation.
