The unit is a 1TB Terastation Pro TS-RH1.0GL/R5 running 1.33 FW. We have owned this unit for about 8 months and it seems that this problem occurrs about every 2 months.
The TS was fully operational the yesterday. I receive regular status emails that showed no errors. No error alerts. No error messages on nasnavi. No errors on the panel. It shows up in nasnavi (with info) and replies to pings. The unit looks normal with the exception that only one drive light is quickly and steadily blinking (drive 1).
I cannot access the web interface (which loads half way and sits there until it times out) nor can I access the shares (I get an error of "name already in use").
The first time this happened, I was a able to resolve it with a reboot. I also disabled the shutdown on error option. The second time it happened, I rebooted it and discovered that a drive had failed. I replaced the drive with a slightly larger one (320GB) and began the rebuild. It sat there for over 24 hours and never finished. I then updated the firmware and the rebuild completed. This time around it only needed a reboot to get it back online.
This is baffling because I see no rhyme or reason for these lock ups. No error messages. No warnings. No web access. No errors on nasnavi and nothing that I can see in the logs. Shouldn't nasnavi at least report a problem or the web interface allow me to see a status? This worries and frustrates me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
