Title: HD-H300LAN Restricted User Password Issue with Windows 7
Post by: SteffenBaier on January 13, 2010, 09:45:36 AM

Hello,

I have had a restricted access setup succesfully for years and now have moved to Windows 7.

Before moving to 7 I used XP and one one machine the access to the "locked" folder stopped working.

I usually got around by manually mapping the via the \\ Functionality instead of searching for it over the Network Functionality.

Since I am on 7 this no longer works.

I can access the same Share via other XP PC's or an XBox running XBMC and succesfully add my Password.

Any Ideas?

Steffen

Why doesn't this work anymore?  I have found windows 7 networking to be quite efficient.  If you mean because you can't see the run command it is because they buried it (try the windows key + R).

Hi, that works but once 7 prompts me for the password it fails after adding the password that works from XP or XBMC

Try disconnecting from all of the shares, rebooting the computer and remapping them starting with the most heavily restricted share
