Post by: InesHinton on December 19, 2021, 03:50:37 PM
Hello All,

I have a problem with my LS420D (firmware version 1.87-0.02).

When the linkstation restarts, the network drives are not mapped. The error is "the specified network name is no longer available". SMB2 is activated in the link station.
what is it?
can you help me

I believe this is a problem with the Linkstation. It appears that although you update SMB2 to be active in the Linkstation Control Panel, this update is only held in cashe, and not updated on the Linkstation system files.
This causes at least 2 problems :
  1. When the cashe gets ovewritten the shares on the Linkstation are lost.
  2. When the Linkstation is rebooted the SMB2 update is lost and it reverts back to SMB1.

This problem has been reported by many people for a number of years.

IT'S ABOUT TIME BUFFALO ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM AND PROVIDED A FIX!!!
