Hello all. I have a Buffalo LS-WS1.0TGL/R1 connected to my home network. Firmware 1.6. The NAS itself and the foldders are password protected. I click on the LS-WSGLED0 icon in my NASNavigator2, am prompted by the password, and can get into all the folders (I gave my user ID access to all the folders).
I use two different backup programs to run real time and daily backups that work fine. These backup programs store the NAS password. The passwords are not an issue.
I also have a Maxtor external Hard drive connected to the back of the Buffalo NAS using the USB port on the NAS. This appear in my list of NAS folders as "usbdisk1".
Normally all I have to do is get into my NAS using the password (as described above) and I ca acces the usbdisk1 without any issues.
But 99% of the time, when I set up the backupprogram to access the usbdisk1, it has issues. I got one job to work ok, but none of the others for some reason.
For the domain\user I am using 192.168.1.120\mark Mark is my user name. The domain is the IP address always assigned to the NAS. On occasion I have also tried LS-WSGLED0\mark or just my name, no domain.
Has anyone else ever experienced such an issue?
Thanks
Do you have any permissions set up on any sub folder. You will need to map the usb hard drive after formatting the usb hard drive to xfs through the web gui of the ls in disk management or disk format. you map to the usb hd by using \\ip\usbdisk1 . And any special characters in the password for the backup programs could create a problem.
