Hello,
I have a very simple set-up: PC with XP, router, NAS LinkStation Pro.
In NASNavigator (ver 2.22), I get depending of the times:
No icon or Information on my LinkStation Pro. When I try to refresh, I get a 'Discovering LinkStation on the network', then nothing and no error message.
or
I can see my Linkstation Pro LS-XHL (Firmware 1.10) bur with a red attention triangle. The error message reads:
Connection error
Some disk information are not obtained
Failed to get the error information
In the Web Admin tool, there is nothing looking wrong.
The LED on the NAS is solid blue.
I have tried to restart the computer and the NAS with no difference.
Any suggestion to resolve my 2 problems:
- be able to see the LinkStation Pro every time in NASNavigator
- eliminate the error message
Thank you very much for your help.
Try starting up your xp machine in safe mode with networking and see if that allows you to access it. Also get the ip address when you can see the device, log into the gui, give it a static ip address and change the name of the device slightly. After that go and map the drive by going to the run box and typeing in \\ip of buffalo ex \\192.168.11.2 press enter and then right click on main "share" folder and map network drive. Give it a drive letter and reconnect at login. This could be a firewall/antivirus issue that could be the problem disable them to see if that makes a difference.
