Title: Vulnerabilities?
Post by: mwalimu on May 04, 2021, 09:12:43 AM
Hi

There have been a bunch of vulnerabilities found in Buffalo Wifi routers of Japan version, some of which may result in serious data breach.

CVE-2021-3511
CVE-2021-3512
CVE-2021-20716

Does anyone know if these vulnerabilities affect those routers of America version? If yes, Buffalo Americas has any plan to release updated firmware?  Actually Buffalo Japan has already released new firmware for some of the routers to address this issue.

https://www.buffalo.jp/news/detail/20210427-01.html  (in Japanese)

Does anyone have any information?

Buffalo have all but abandoned their routers outside of the Japanese market. There "flagship" AirStation™ AC1200 hasn't had an update in over 3 years.

I doubt you will get and fixes outside of the Japanese FW.

Thank you, davo. Buffalo Japan released new firmware after 5 years of silence for some old routers. But, as you mentioned, it seems not happening outside Japan. It may be the time for me to get new one ...
