I get this error when trying to install using easy setup.
I tried using advanced setup, and it put the NASNavigator2 icon on my desktop, but failed to finish setup.
Using the NASNavigator2 icon, I can get into the NAS, admin login, etc.
But it is not fully installed, and doesn't show up as a network drive under My Computer.
How can I get the NAS setup properly?
Also, on other computers on the network, how do I install the software? Use the same disc and easy setup?
I am having the same issue on a brand new device out of the box. I tried across my network first and this error came up. I have hooked the drive directly to my Mac 10.6.2 via the eternet port and the error persists. No Available Linkstation is Found.
Buffalo LS-CH1.0TL
I got it mapped as an L: drive using the web tool on the icon.
But still can't get setup to find it.
I tried checking firewall settings, turning off firewall - nothing works.
I did get into web admin config and set it to RAID1.
Only problem was it knocks out the default folder, after that is manually put back in it allows drive mapping.
I am transfering files to it with no problem.
@nas47150, have you tried mapping the drive from another PC in My Computers ?
I just got the 2TB one and my setup did not complete as well. I only have the INFO folder and not the SHARE folder as indicated in the manual. However, I am able to write and access the drive no problem.
Anyway, i am able to access my shared folders (i created) from other PCs/ laptops without any problem. No need to install NASNavigator on all PCs. Just do a map from My Computer.
Its Works, but I am not sure if I am doing it right.
I have not yet tried to map other PCs on the network.
The PC I am trying to configure with is Vista, most of the others are XP Pro, so they may work differently.
I will update the thread as soon as I try it.
Same thing with XP Pro, setup fails, can't find the linkstation.
If you know the IP addresss of the unit then you can map a drive on any PC or Mac on your Network. You do not have to have the Nas Navi Client Software on your PC or Mac to access the unit.
Goto 'Start->'Run'. In the Run box type \\192.168.11.150 where 192.168.11.150 is the IP address of the NAS. Or, In the Run box type \\HOSTNAME where HOSTNAME is the Hostanme of the NAS. This will open a window with the shares. Right-Click on the share you wish to map and select Map Network Drive. You will then have the option to choose a drive letter. Once you have done so, click 'Finish'.
