Post by: jshakour on March 17, 2021, 10:25:12 AM
So I just got a (new to me) TS1400D. I am having trouble setting up the following...

Email notifications to my gmail account.
Web Access

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Webaccess: https://www.buffalotech.com/knowledge-base/configuring-webaccess-on-a-buffalo-terastation (https://www.buffalotech.com/knowledge-base/configuring-webaccess-on-a-buffalo-terastation)

Email, if you have two factor authentication set up for your Google account then you have to create a special login for devices. They call it app passwords.

Thanks for the response. I swear I have tried everything in the webaccess tutorial but I will give it another whirl. Good catch on the email notifications. I do have 2FA setup. I'll report back in a few days.

I, too, just noticed that when I try to do a firmware update I get the following message....

NAS Internet connection could not be confirmed.

I just upgraded to the most recent firmware version 4.18 (and also attempted a restart).  DNS network settings are accurate (pointing to my home router as the Primary DNS Sever and the Default Gateway and Google DNS 8.8.8.8 as the Secondary DNS Server).

Any ideas on how to fix?
