Title: Problems with LS-CH1.5TL-US
Post by: sassa on December 30, 2009, 12:15:29 PM

Dear All,

I bought a 1.5T Linkstation Live LS-CHL in May 2009 from BH. I just installed the NAS to 2 weeks when I finished building my new computer (ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, core i7 920, 6GB OCZ DDR3 12800, 3x1TB Seagate HDD and 2xBFG Nvidia 250GTS, dual boot with windows 7 and Snow Leopard, everything running perfectly)

After two days of installation of the NAS HD started making a strange noise and the LED flashes 7 times.

I know I have 1 year warranty, however I live in Brazil and send to services in the U.S. is very expensive (because taxes).

I have 2 more available HDD (1.5TB WD and 500GB Seagate). Could I test with these HD in NAS? If I replace the HD with a brand new, what are the steps should I follow?

Thanks in Advance

Sorry but we don't have any instructions or support swapping the drives in the device.  If you were to format the disk to raw or xfs with a linux box then "theoretically" remove the drive and swap it in with the same capacity drive, with hopefully the same cache and rpm and you try a tftp boot to get the firmware back on it.
