Title: Linkstation Help Please
Post by: Bunnyboo on February 07, 2021, 03:38:56 PM
Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and am looking for anyone's help please. I hope I have posted this in the right place.

I have Buffalo Linkstation LS-CHL-V2 Series and Im stuck in emergency mode.
I have done some research and have managed to download the firmware for(LS-CHL: LinkStation™ Live V1 (blue UI) & V2 (red UI))...But my hard drive is green and I cant seem to find any downloads/firmware to include a green drive.

This is where I got the firmware from
https://www.buffalo-technology.com/service-support/downloads/software-firmware-updates/

So this is what Ive downloaded
Firmware updater   1.75   Windows      15-12-2020

So now onto the updating aspect.
I start my NAS navigator and it locates the drive (which states its in emergency mode and that I need to update the firmware.

I open the Buffalo series updater file for the update and it sees the NAS...
When I click on update it tells me

Partition not found. Aborting firmware update

I have tried this quite a few times. I have also changed the IP address which I found here,

https://www.lukestratton.co.uk/blog/2010/05/21/getting-out-of-em-mode-for-the-buffalo-linkstation-live-hs-dhgl/

But still I cant seem to get any further that this. The drive just wont update.
The drive has pictures of my children when they were babies (which I cant replace), so I really want to try and recover them.
I tried to insert some pictures but couldn't figure out how it was done.

If any one can offer any help I would very much appreciate it please..

Thanks,

Bunnyboo
