I have a brand new LS-CH1.0TL, originally with version 1.10, now 1.21 firmware version. With the original fw version, I was able to set up the WebAccess for the local network (192.168.0.x) but not from outside - so, rather useless - which is why I tried updating the fw. Now, however, I cannot set up WebAccess at all. Autoconfigure firewall -option never worked, so I had to select an external port manually. No matter what port I select, I always get an empty "Error" -message box. Everything else seems to work just like it did before the update. I still do not quite understand, if the port 9000 is something that should have been avoided. The manual was ambiguous about it. Now, the main question is, can I reset this situation somehow? I do not mean going back to original fw version, just getting the WebAccess to work even if it just works with the local network.
Yes you want to use port 9000 for web access and forward that in your router. If it stopped working since the update i would check to make sure it didnt change IP addresses.
Thanks for the prompt reply. In fact, nothing else worked but restoring the factory settings. Now it (=WebAccess) works as before, i.e., locally but not from outside. At least now I can continue figuring out how to configure the router. The real problem is though, that I do not even know where the problem is. Maybe the ISP is blocking this port, or perhaps it is the PC:s firewall (in order to successfully update the firmware, it was necessary to hook the LinkStation directly to PC) and not the router.
