Hi, running windows XP Professional SP2 and trying to get Windows Media Player (WMP) to see my large music collection on my Buffalo LS-WSGL-R1 using the DLNA service (I know I can do this with file sharing, I have other reasons to want WMP to use the DLNA service).
After some searching, some advice I found was to check the "find media that others are sharing" in the sharing options but I don't have that option at all. Clicking on "share my media" does nothing.
Is it possible this isn't available in XP Pro? Couldn't find evidence of that one way or another.
Is there a URL I can connect to on the LS-WSGL that will serve up the media? I tried mms://192.168.11.2.

If the device is mapped and any media server options are on and the folder is mapped then you should be able to see it, if you can't talk to the manufacturer or the software.
Also it could be firewall/antivirus software that could be getting in the way. Try it from mulitple machines if you can.
More info: I can see the DLNA service on my XP machine from itunes, so I don't think there is a firewall issue. I'm pretty sure the issue is with WMP, wondering if anyone got this to work.
Is there a URL for the service on the NAS?
