Title: Tarastation Pro 1.0GL/R5 can not find on network
Post by: glgger on December 17, 2009, 08:33:10 PM

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction, I can't get the drive to see the network. I have it connected to a router I've even swapped cables and ports and it still will not get an IP, the router is set to DHCP. I even changed my router IP range to the same as the default on the drive still no luck.  Is there a special trick that I haven't tried? The drive spins up and seems to try to get an IP from DHCP but then it drops back to the default IP that I can't ping it or connect to it. Any suggestions?

Hello,

after our TS2 TGL R5 had 2 broken drives it entered EM mode. It got IP and subnet mask from DHCP, but no default gateway. Maybe it's what happened to you. With the NS Navigator try to look for your TS. It shows if the TS is in EM mode or not and the network settings. The only way to fix it was to reflash the firmware from a pc connected to the TS with the IP on the same subnet.

Hope it helps

Diego,

Thanks for the tip, I'll try to flash the unit and see if that makes a differance. Do you know if I'll need a crossover cable or not?

Just make sure that it directly connected to your PC via ethernet and do not download the firmware wireless.
