Title: LS220DB loses Active Directory users and groups when changes are made to USB drv
Post by: rwasserman on December 11, 2020, 04:41:33 PM
An update to this post: Restarting the device does not help.  AD connection must be re-established and user permissions re-assigned.  I changed the title of this post to add USB drive because in my further testing it would lose it when I would make a change to the USB share and not the other shares.  Possibly this is by design but I would appreciate any input if anyone else has noticed this behavior.

Hello,

We have a new LS220DB and we had no issues getting it joined to the Active Directory domain.  We added a USB drive for backup and after I formatted that drive, I lost my AD connection.  We re-established it and then had to go back into folder shares and set the sharing rights up again.  Everything was fine and then we had to make a sharing option change on one share.  After the change we again lost our AD connection.  I have not had a chance to test yet but I will see if when this happens if a restart resolves the issue.  That is the only way I can see to restart the networking and sharing services.  If that works then that is better than re-establishing AD connection and reassigning permissions.  I will post an update after I have tested that but in the mean time, I thought I would post this to see if anyone else has noticed this type of behavior and if so, if there is any guidance on resolution.

Thank you!
