Title: Can't stream to Xbox using Media Player.
Post by: cessna1466u on December 15, 2009, 02:03:47 AM

I know the Linkstation live has the media server function but its been acting up lately and I am trying to stream my media to my xbox using the windows media player option. I add the mapped folders to my Media Player library but as as soon as it starts I get a pop up message that says: Windows can't change this folders sharing settings because it's on another computer. After that I go to the xbox and it tells me there are no videos or pictures. Any ideas?

As far as I know, you can't stream from WMP if the files are on a different computer/NAS. If you have the LS-CHL, it should be able to stream directly to the Xbox. As the Xbox is not a DLNA certified device, though, this is not officially compatible.
