Title: Buffalo pre-installed software not working on TeraStation WS5420RN6

Hello,
we have 2 TeraStation WS5420RN6 connected in the same subnet.
Traffic is not passing through the firewall because they communicate directly being on the same subnet.

Both devices have been configured some months ago and always worked well until now.

Since last week we only had the 10Gbit port connected, but last week we connected also the 2 x 1Gbit ports and created a teaming following the documentation (all the ports were in the same subnet, as said above)

Not sure if this caused the issue, but after a few days we noticed that replication with Buffalo software was failing
and we were not able to "see" the TeraStation using Nas Navigator, not even trying from the same subnet.

We tried the following:
- try to reach both the ip of the 10Gbit card and the one of the 1Gbit cards
- remove network teaming on the 1Gbit cards
- completely disconnect the 2 x 1Gbit interfaces and reboot

None of the above helped and the issue was affecting both TeraStation in the same way.

Following the Europe support suggestion, we tried to reinstall the firmware in one of the TeraStation (we already had the latest version)
and that fixed the issue.
Unfortunately the Europe support was not able to provide us more info about the reason why it may have happened because they are in liquidation.

So I'm asking here if there's any known bug or any way to troubleshoot the issue.
We applied the fix only to one of the two TeraStation, so we are able to replicate the issue and check logs if needed.

It seems clear to me that something bad happened to the Buffalo software because after reinstalling the firmware they came back working,
without any change on the OS or on the network.

The devices are under warranty, but we cannot get a good level of support in Europe.
Could you please help?

I just wanted to thank Buffalo for the great support offered.

Europe --> no support
US --> we cannot support EU customers, write on the forum
Forum --> no answer

I'll definitely not recommend Buffalo products!

I read this a few times but couldn't fully understand. Are the devices still not working?

I don't have experience with this model yet and haven't done anything with interface bonding using the stock firmware.

I do use bonding with my TS5000 devices running Debian:

I imagine some work will need to be done to add support for the 5020 devices. Hopefully someday I'll get my hands on one so I can work on that.

They were still not working until I reinstalled the firmware, which I did in these days because of no answer in the forum.
Reinstalling the firmware cannot be the solution for all the problems: I would have expected more support from Buffalo, taking care of their preinstalled applications and help with the troubleshooting.

I'm running Windows anyway (preinstalled OS) and probably the network teaming was just a coincidence, but not the cause of the issue
because I created again the teaming after reinstalling the firmware and the issue didn't happen again.

I'm worried it may happen again in future with no apparent reason and that the only way to fix will be to reinstall the firmware (which requires a restart)

A firmware re-install is sometimes necessary to clear certain issues in the Linux firmware, I haven't really heard of it happening with the Windows version. I know preciously little about that version I'm afraid.
