Title: Backup
Post by: ganesh on December 11, 2009, 12:14:31 PM

Hi

I would like to know if its possible to zip files from the linkstation LS gl 500  via commandline. I can see the options from the web interface (i.e. setting up autmate back up  jobs) but that's going to take time as we have gb's of files. Please let me know if we can access the linkstation via some ssh command prompt and zip the files from the there.

thanks.

SSH access is disabled, and not supported. The best way to automate something like that would be with FTP and a shell script, but you would still have to do the compression itself on another system.
