Title: No LS-QLSettings.txt file on my Mac desktop
Post by: tokyodan on December 10, 2009, 07:27:38 PM

According to the LinkStation Quad manuals there should be a LS-QLSettings.txt file on my Mac desktop after I install NASNavigator2. There is no such file. So when I start NASNavigator2 I think the missing file is causing it to display the following dialog:

"LS-QL494 cannot communicate. Change it to a right IPaddress automatically?"

I click OK, then after scanning, NASNavigator2 displays another dialog:

"Change IP Address  Tried to change LS-QL494's IPaddress, but failed."

I click OK again and then NASNavigator2 correctly shows my LS-QL494 and all the proper info (IP Address, Default Gateway, etc.). And I can use NASNavigator2 successfully. So it seems that NASNavigator2 can communicate with my LinkStation.

Why are the warning messages displayed? Is it because of the missing LS-QLSettings.txt file?

What is the local IP address of both the Mac and LS?  Also what does it say for your linkstations hostname?
