Hi guys,
Just joined this forum after purchasing the LS-CHL1.0TL model. I have registered the Product with Buffalo technology also. Bought this HDD back in Feb or March 2009.
My HDD Specs:
Software Applications:
NASNavigator2 Ver: 2.10 RC4 <--Is that latest?
HDD Firmware currently on: Version 1.02
My Questions are:
On http://www.buffalo-technology.com/support/downloads/ site there's firmware Version 1.06, 1.07 and latest 1.21 available I 'think' 1.21 is Not for my LS-CHL1.0TL model.
1) Upon upgrading my firmware do I need to start from 1.06 AND THEN work towards 1.07? OR Can I upgrade from my 1.02 (Current) straight to 1.07?
2) Is there Tutorial guide to upgrading - the proper way to avoid Warranty. Url Links Please?
3) Whilst upgrading the firmware can you Loose Data from HDD during the process? Brother of mine, suggested It wouldn't becuz Data stored on Platters and not Buffalo's ROM chip ofcourse. Anyone, had bad experience?
4) 1.07 firmware is that Ajax version GUI?
5) Any Tips and tricks from you Guru's whilst ingerating this External HDD into your Home Pipe-line multimedia?
Look forward hearing from you expert people
Thanks.
Bump! Help please

a.) you can flash 1.07 from 1.02.
2) Is there Tutorial guide to upgrading - the proper way to avoid Warranty. Url Links Please?
a.) Just download 1.07, extract it and run the updater.exe program. Make sure your firewalls are disabled and the NASNAVI is closed. When the updater program finds the unit, just click update.

a.) Unless something goes terribly wrong during the firmware updating process (power failure ect.) there will be no data loss, and the risk of it is extremely low.
4) 1.07 firmware is that Ajax version GUI?
a.) No, the ajax firmware is for the second hardware version
I apologize it took us so long to get back to you.. Hopefully this information finds you, or someone else using it as a referance, well.
