Title: Permission Error
Post by: bjastbf on December 03, 2009, 10:18:12 AM

I'm working with a LS-CHL F/W 1.01 and am running into a File Permission issue when trying to move files between folders while the Linkstation is mounted on my (Mac) desktop.

The error is as follows:

"An error occurred.

The operation couldn't be completed. (OSStatus error -5000.)

Insufficient access privileges for operation"

1. What's generating this error?

2. How do I get around this error so that I can move files between folders on my Linkstation?

I am the Administrator of both the Mac and the Linkstation.

Thanks for any assistance

Thats odd, do you have a windows computer to update the firmware from?

No, unfortunately, I don't.

1. Is there a firmware update that addresses this issue?

I have Parellels for the Mac that might allow me to run Windows to update this.

2. How would I go about doing this if I did have a Window computer?

Thanks

You would just need to download the updater file from our website.  But I am almost positive that it wont work with parrallels.

There isnt a specific firmware but if something isn't working right when it should it is one of the first troubleshooting steps to take.

Is this permission problem a known issue?

Is seems very random ...
