Title: LS-CH1.TL -Problems
Post by: charliechan22 on December 01, 2009, 05:38:35 AM

Link Station LS-CH1.0TL -EU

Fireware 1.01

NasNavigator 2.22

Main PC (Win XP Pro) is connected to the router,

Linkstation is connected to router

and Laptop (Win Vista) connects wirelessly

Problems:

When i use NAS navigator and double click my linkstation i get a hourglass icon for a few seconds and nothing happens

When i go to my network places and double click my linkstation i get a error message "LS-CH951 is not accessible"

When i try to map remote default share to drive letter on NAS Navigator i get a erroe "Failed mapping remote default share is missing"

I can access web admin. and create new shares but i still can't see them.

Would a firmware update work? havn't tried it yet as i don't want to make my linkstation into a brick.

How are you trying to map drives?

on the Nasnavigator, click on Menu and then map remote default share to drive letter.

It seems i can see my link station but can't access anything on it

I phoned the UK help desk

They suggested  to update the firmware and do a  debug as it sounds like the paration table was corrupt

After the new firmware and debug all my shares worked again and i also got the webaccess bit working as well,.

They is a link on somewhere here on how to update the firmware and edit the file to enable the debug function.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem I am running Windows Vista.

I had the shared drive all setup and could access via the PC and the PS3.

I was moving some large photos from the PC to the NAS and it hung and the the shared connection could no longer connect to the NAS (L:)

I rebooted the unit and re-installed the software, the shared connection has now been lost and every time I try and re-connect I get the same error message saying remote mapping failed, however the PS3 still sees the NAS and it is showing as a connected device on the router software, I have only had this unit 2 weeks and now is un-useable.

Can anybody please help??

It doesnt sound like you're having the same issue.  Have you tried remapping the shares?  If not go to the run command and type in "\\IP".  Then right click on the share and go to "map network drive."

Did you try doing the force firmware update that the OP did?

Sorry, I might have mis lead you a little my device is a LS-CHL-V2043.

I can't re-map as it gives me the error message 'Windows cannot access \\LS-CHL-V2043' when I am in the network selection.

If I try and remap by selecting Map a Network drive if I select browse for folder it will bring up the list of my home computer and the NAS drive, but when I select the NAS drive I get the same error message as above.

I just seem to be going around in circles, please help!

It doesn't look like you tried it by IP address.  Try it by IP address, also what is the hostname according to the NASNAVI?
