Title: Terastation III Activity Lights
Post by: tmm0f5 on November 30, 2009, 07:13:39 PM
Hello All, I've had a Terastation III running for about 3 weeks now and it performs absolutely perfectly. I noticed over the last week or so that the harddrive lights run constantly. I even turned off everything that accesses the TS (Xbox 360, Desktop and 2 Laptops) and noticed the activity lights continue to blink for all 4 harddrives. Is there a way to see what activity is going on? Why are the drives being accessed? I have no torrents or backups running. Thank you in advance for any insight to this. -Tim

Probably just saying hi to all of its drive.  During my testing, all four lights would flash occasionally depending on the raid setup, 5 or 10.  Nothing to worry about, just something these devices do.. Also just in case you do have a problem keep your invoice or receipt for your 3 year warranty on the device and it's drives.  But this is nothing out of the ordinary.

Okay thank you. It ran like that continuously for about 24 hours, just blinking away. Then sometime today it stopped. Just seemed odd. Thanks, Tim
