i recently bought my buffallo linkstation live 1tb with bittorrent 2 weeks ago.
i set it up following the instructions given in the manual.
i was able to configure it properly, as i was able to access the drive (ls-chl554), mount it on my mac and pc running in windows 7.
i was able to configure web access and was able to access it via buffaloNAS.com and download torrents.
basically all configurations went well.
the next day, about 8 hours after, due to network interruption i was forced to reset my modem and router, unfortunately, modem, router and linkstation shares only one power source so it was also restarted.
it was at this point that i started to have problem with linkstation, the led light keeps on blinking thereafter.
i followed a thread : http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Solved-Storage-Threads/Re-LinkStation-Live-LS-CHL-status-led-keep-flashing-but-ls-chl/td-p/10913 but it doesn't worked on me, the status led keep flashing blue.
current setup:
wireless router + linkstation live + mac/windows 7/xp
If you powered it down improperly then you will probably have to wait a day for a disk check. Make sure it still has firmware on it or - - which means you need to flash the firmware on the pc once it finishs it's test.
thanks for the reply.
couple of question.
how to power it down properly?
how to know if it still has firmware if i cannot access it through the nasnav?
how to flash firmware from a pc?
thanks again.
"how to power it down properly?"
With the switch on the unit itself.
"how to know if it still has firmware if i cannot access it through the nasnav?"
The only two ways to tell are through NASNAVI and through the web interface.
"how to flash firmware from a pc?"
Follow my instructions for the TS Pro II here:
You dont have the same unit so the firmware version will either be the 1.21 or 1.07 depending on your current firmware version. Also the updater program will be called LSUpdater, not TSUpdater
