Title: drive won't work
Post by: oicu812 on November 22, 2009, 08:56:47 AM

I have an HD-CE500U2 Turbo. This is the second one since the first one crashed. This is refurbished. I am running XP Home. I had to unplug the drive a few days ago because of an unrelated issue and use my back-up computer. Now I have my primary computer back and the drive is not recognized. So I dumped the software and try to reload it. The drive shows it has power and I enable the USB Turbo or so I thought.. Then a prompt comes up that says 'Turbo function cannot be enabled'. So I go through the process all over again and I get to the point where it says 'installation complete. Wait a few minutes and check for drive icon in my computer'. The icon never appears and the drive light goes off. The last time I reloaded the software I went to unzip it and I got a prompt say 'drive program or file is corrupted. I have no idea what to do now.

Help!?  :smileyindifferent:

It probably failed again.  Testing it on multiple machines is the best way to find out.  And what was the "unreleated" issue before that had you remove device and get off your main machine.  If it was any type of corruption/virus/trojan that could create issues with the drive.
