Title: Why the Terastation HomeServer HS-D1TGL doesn't support back up?
Post by: Lebej on November 13, 2008, 05:21:57 AM

I have a terastation pro II, a linkstation and an older terastation HS. They are all on the  network. I would like to back up some files from the terastation pro to the HS one. So when i go under terastation list in the backup menu, from the tera pro web admin page, i can just se the tera pro itself and the linkstation. besides those two state "back up support" is yes. Otherwise when i gon on the web admin age of the tera HS, iunder tera list i can't see the others but only the teraHS and under the column "backup support" the is a - .

Can somebody explain or help ? i tried to reboot the tera and that didn't change. I tried an IP change, useless. Is this tera HS really incompatible for beeing a backup recipient ?

Sorry for my english ! i'm belgian. Thank you guys

Even with the most up to date firmware you cannot backup a TS Pro II to a Homeserver. There is nothing you can do in this case.

This is a pity. i was beggining to believe so ....... since i tried mostly everything and it didn't work either

i guess it'll only backup to usb

One more question : so i can't backup the HS to the TeraPro either ?

Thanx , a lot

Well now i know, TERA HS will stand alone ( maybe my wife will use it )

And i'll use the linkstation for remote backup ( if i succeed )

Appreciated a lot ur help. That was fast.
