Title: Partitioning a HD-CELU2
Post by: ralphv on November 17, 2009, 09:32:17 AM

Hello!

If I partition a network 1Tb HD-CELU2 into several partitions, will I get several shared folders, and can I map each to individual shared folder to computers so they can not see the other shared folders?

no, if you format the drive into ntfs (which im guessing you will) you will lose all lan functionality.

the entire partition needs to be kept in fat32.

Thanks!

Any suggestions how to share this drive with 3 users, and keep information private (each user has a folder that the others cant see)?

The Flexnet is meant as a single user NAS server.  There are no provisions to assign security on individual folders.  If users want to share folders, best way is to use some kind of software backup with NIST level encryption so only the user can see the content of the folder.  Or upgrade to a real NAS with security provisions.
