Title: Terastation filesystem layout?
Post by: billm on November 13, 2008, 12:09:59 AM

I setup a two shares on array1 on my terastation; when I FTP to the box, I can see the directory for one of the two shares under array1, the other isn't visiable. Why?

If I want to move files from one share to another share, how can I do this? I would prefer not to mount both on a PC and copy them, since that requires two trips across the LAN. On a Linux fileserver, I would, given appropriate permissions, be able to rename the files from one directory to another, without having to copy anything.

Finally, is there a way to be able to access a command line on the terastation? How would I find out what the root password is, or establish a telnet or SSH type connection?

Thanks.

You have to enable ftp support for each share you want accessible via FTP.

Also the firmware that is loaded on the unit will not at this time support any command line interaction with the TS.
