Title: Hard drive upgrade duo
Post by: shermbot on November 14, 2009, 12:45:21 PM

I realize the warrent would be voided but I need extra space.  What is the max drive size I can put in the Drivestation duo 1tb?

That is a good question.  With the Duo I believe from the factory at the moment it is 2tb max size.  But again all of this is theoretical, you are going into unsupported territory, tread lightly or buy a bigger storage device.

Shermbot, did you ever try this out?  I have a Drivestation DUO running in RAID1 that has two 500GB drives.  I'm almost out of space and would love to just drop in larger drives.  I realize I'd have to mount one of the exiting 500GB drives externally to copy all of the data back over.  I just don't want to buy the larger drives only to find out that there is no way to make it work.  Any ideas?
