Title: EM MODE
Post by: Brillefyren on November 13, 2009, 05:32:35 AM

My setup is HS-DH 2.0 TGL/R5  S/N 998843710028326 and it has gone into Emergency Mode

My laptop runs XP Home SP3 and I can connect with the Terrastation using NASNavigator 2 which says: "Update the firmware or contact your local technical support"

Terrastation is connected directly to laptop - the only way to get connnected to the TS

Tried the hs-dhtgl-up 214 102 and it says in the Firmware Ver. box: ----

Tried the lsupdater.ini changes found in this forum ie. : Version Check = 0 + Debug = 1

Any takers?

/Jens

The fact that you said you tried the "lspdater.exe" file means you are trying to install the wrong firmware.

Download the right one (2.14 in europe anyways) and run that.

Bare in mind that if you have the TS connected directly to your PC then you need to set a static IP address on the network card of the PC in order for both devices to communicate.

Also deactivate all anti virus and firewall software.

TVM for the swift reply

Now the update works - great

It installs the new firmware and rebooting

But it stalls at reading on the display and beeps continuingly (as error) : "System error E04 Cant´t load Krnl"

TIA

You sound like you have the same issue as I. I have also tried everything on this forum, including a dozen forced F/W updates and reboots while trying to figure out if I have a bad HDD(s). I bought a replacement HD and tried it in all the slots starting with number 1. Still no way to restructure and no success in booting past the E04.

Also, it looks like you had the right update file to begin with. they all seem to have an lsupdater.ini.

Good luck,

Pat

Pat...is it possible to buy spare parts from Buffalo ie. a new motherboard or will you have to go all the way and buy a brand new TS - mine is just under two years

Best regards

Jens

Our business model doesn't include a dept to disassemble returned units for parts. It's more cost-effective for the customer to purchase a used, low-capacity model, to use for parts. If we had to add the cost of disassembly and test, into the cost of a motherboard, it would end up costing more than a refurbished low-capacity model.

You have a Terastation Live, which had a one-year warranty. If you need parts, you should look for a 1TB model.
