Title: Trouble connecting a new LS210D to a Mac
Post by: Yakr on June 24, 2020, 09:33:16 AM
I'd posted a few weeks back with an old LS-500GL connecting to a Mac - had to buy a new LS210D because the old NAS used SMB1 which is no longer supported by Catalina.  Thanks again to everyone who helped me troubleshoot that.

Now I have a new LS210D.  I connected it to my network last night, and kicked off a 12-hr copy of all my music files.

I'm trying to connect to the LS210D this morning and am running into difficulty.

Using Finder > Go >  Connect to Server, I can connect, after a delay.  But a few things are happening:  on the NAS I have Info and Share, which mimics what the old NAS had.  I am prompted for which to connect to and I select Share.  Bit now things get odd.  Previously with the old device, the Mac would connect and open up a new Finder window.  Now, it opens a new tab.  Nothing major, but a bit odd.

When accessing the Share, through Locations > ~Mac Name~ > Share, I can see that everything copied across OK.  But - I notice that the NAS device itself is displayed under Locations but the icon next to its name is for a PC, not a volume.  (previously the old NAS had its name there, but I don't recall what icon it had).

I am able to navigate the contents of the NAS/Share by using Locations > ~Mac Name~ > Share - and everything is there.

But if I click on the NAS name under Locations, the connection is dropped and I have to reconnect.

What have I done wrong?
