Title: LS-CH1.0TL-V2 disappears from Network and can't ping
Post by: JerryPresley on October 31, 2009, 06:27:16 PM

I have set the LS NAS with a static IP and can backup some files, usually smaller ones. When I backup larger files and folders, the NAS disappears from the network at random intervals. When it disappears, I can't find the shares in Network Places, can't ping the IP and can't get to the web interface. After a period of time, sometimes 10 minutes sometimes 2 hours, the NAS re-appears and I can see the shares, ping and get to the web interface.

I've upgraded the firmware to 1.21 and the shares are not restricted by UN or PW. The same problem occurs on multiple computers on the network.

I first thought it was a flaky NIC card and returned the NAS for a replacement. This is now the second NAS doing the same thing.

Is anyone else having a similar problem?

Anyone have any thoughts on a solution to this problem?

Do you have it set on a static IP?

Yes, it's set with a static IP.

One more clue; I have another brand NAS on the network and it works fine. I don't think it's something on the network.

Have you tried multiple switches/routers?  Also try resetting it to defaults.
