Title: TeraStation Pro file sharing will not start/restart
Post by: StateOTexas on October 28, 2009, 03:57:53 PM

Terastation Pro Model TS-H4.0TGL/R5 F/W 1.26

Web admin is accessible, have created, formatted, and erased all Drives, RAID arrays, Configuration. Have defaulted config and setup to factory, didn't help.

Unable to re-flash BIOS, Unable to access even the "Info" share.

Environment: NAS is behind a firewall, no internet access, not joined to a domain and is being accessed by a WinXP Pro workstation 192.168.11.x. Network. (NAS is 150, last octet) Workstation is on the same subnet.

Have installed NS-SHFT and NAS Navigator, both applications can see the device (currently named ABCD) Admin acct is default PW right now, system has no failed drives, all drives check for "Check", "Format", and "Erase" without issue in different RAID arrays (currently 1st 2 drives in mirror, drives 3 and 4 not being used)

I have searched the forums and found no matching issue, outside of shares being inaccessable.

What is not working with the firmware update?  Are you getting an error?  Make sure the firewalls are disabled and the nasnavi is closed when updating.

It tells me it cant find the Terastation for the FW update, I have edited the INI to no effect.

Since I have broken the RAID5 into a Mirror, I now get this message when Attempting to update the FW:

"Failed to formatting (ACP_STATE_FAILURE) Updating is aborting"

That usually indicates a MB failure.  I would contact your local support for a replacement.
