Post by: leshin on November 11, 2008, 04:44:57 AM

I would like to stream my movies from Pro Duo to Playstation 3. How do it do that? Do i need to change my firmware? What settings should i have o make the Pro Duo visible to Playstation 3?

Thanks

Media Server (DLNA) function let you do that. Store files on a shared folder, say "Movie", and enable Media Server funciton. For Media Folder under Media Server settings, make sure to choose "Movie".

My NAS is version 1, does this mean that i cannot have DLNA?

Version 1 seems not supporting DLNA feature.

Does anyone have a V3?  I can't even find a reference to V3 anywhere on the internet or on the Buffalo site. I bought this thing because the web site says it works as a dlna server and I can't get my ps3 to find it.

I purchased the 2 TB version from newegg and it works quite well with my PS3. They no longer seem to carry the 2 TB version but they do carry the 1 TB version.

A V3 will have 2 USB ports (make sure you check the product specs before purchase) whereas the V1 will have 1.

For anyone who needs to know here is how to make the NAS visible to a PS3.

Log into you web admin.

go to "Media Server" tab

Enable the media server at the top then scroll down to the Data Base refresh settings

Check the "refresh now" box and click apply

that should do the job
