I'm having trouble mapping the shares a Linkstation Live LS-CHL to Windows 7. NAS Navigator can see the device and provides an IP, subnet, machine name etc, If I choose Browse Shares in this software, nothnig happens - no errors, no freezing etc.
I can ping the unit but it does not show up in the network. If I try to map directly to the IP address or any of the shares via Windows I recieve an error stating the device cannot be found. If I try to browse to the unit by IP or name through the Run command I recieve an error saying that "the file cannot be read".
I am on the latest firmware - 1.21 - and I have tried altering the LAN security as per other threads with similar problems regarding Vista. Strangely enough the unit has worked out of the box with my other Vista machines.
I can still reach the web admin and web access however.
I realise that Windows 7 is new and therefore may be things that are not discovered regarding security but has anyone managed to use a LS-CHL successfully with it yet? Is this a known problem or am I missing something?
I've been using 7 for months (through beta and RC) and i havent come up against any problems. I know this might sound a bot odd, but are you connecting from a wireless connection? If so try mapping the drive via RJ45 and see how you get on.
Hi, thanks the prompt reply. Yes I am using a wireless connection so I will see if the same occurs when it is wired.
One thing has occurred to me, could it possibly have anything to do with MTU settings? I'm at work at them moment and cannot try anything so I will let you know I get on later.
OK, now it's working. I noticed that there was also a problem with update and firewall working correctly so I reinstalled altogether. Now everything is working OK so I presume it was a bad install of Windows 7!
