Title: Move HDD to new dock
Post by: baraedinazzu on November 08, 2019, 12:25:14 PM
Hi there,

I have 2 x HDD mounted as RAID 1 in my LD220d station.
I need to replace with empty HDDs and I wanto to move the old one
to a simple USB docking station.

Why I can't see the content of the HDD that has been formatted by the LD220d
and windows ask me to format them?

Is there any way I can use those drives outside the LD220d without formatting them?

Thanks

The Linkstation firmware is a Linux system which configures the drives in a way that is not supported by Windows.

Specifically the data partition(s) are stored within an XFS filesystem inside a software raid array (MDADM). The data can be accessed from a PC running linux.
