Title: Can't connect to DriveStation from MacBook Pro
Post by: haddock on October 21, 2009, 09:58:36 PM

Hi all,

I just bought an HD-CELU2 1.5TB DriveStation FlexNet.

Firmware is: BUF-CELU2-1.4.7 LOADER 3.5W1.9

I am running Mac OS X 10.6.1 on a MacBook Pro.

  1. I can see the drive in my browser at 10.0.1.2, but I cannot connect to it.
  2. There was no Mac software on the CD.
  3. NasNavigator 2 doesn't see the drive.
  4. I installed software and connected to the drive from Windows XP, no problem (Bootcamp).
  5. The drive is fine in USB, but I really bought this for the Ethernet capability and speed.

Any suggestions? I've searched through the forums but there's not a lot about the HD-CELU2 1.5TB

Thanks in advance!

If you know the Ip address of the unit then make sure its in LAN mode.  Go to "go" then to connect to server, type in smb://ipaddress, if that dosent work then try afp://.  To get the ipaddress run the Drive Navi and go to details.

Thanks for the prompt reply JoshC. But like I said the unit is in LAN mode (USB works fine) and I can access it through my browser at http://10.0.1.2/index2.htm.

NasNavigator2 DOES NOT see the drive.

Every time I try to connect, either through SMB or AFP the connection FAILS.

In Windows XP it works fine, that's how I found the drives IP address.

Thanks again.

OK, now I can't connect to it in Windows either. The only way this thing is working is through USB.

This can't be that hard, I bought this unit to replace a Seagate 500MB Firewire, which is faster than USB, and all I did was plug it in, literally.

The DriveStation is newer, better and faster through ethernet, there has to be a way to solve this.

Thanks.

I can see the drive in my shared now, but I can't connect to it. When it finally asks me to log on it shuts down my finder window. Anybody else having these problems?

Thanks in advance.
