Title: LInkStation Pro Duo - read some negative reviews - need reassurance please
Post by: martincregg on October 21, 2009, 12:03:58 PM

I have just taken delivery of a LinkStation Pro Duo. However, read a number of reviews on-line and now have the following concerns:
1. will it serve as a print server
2. will it handle an external USB hard drive
3. If (when) a drive fails, does it flag a warning and keep working until the failed device is replaced, or does it stop until replaced

It could be I'm reading old reviews and there have been a number of firmware updates that sort out the above.

Would appreciate some confirmation that as a novice computer guy, I have not made a mistake.

Thanks.

Martin

1.  It will print to any non multifunction printer that supports post script.

2.  Yes

3.  When a drive fails the unit will no longer be operable.

This thing is working great. Glad I ignored the negative reviews. Pleanty of positive ones out there as well. I've found the Buffalo support to be quite helpful. Depends who you get. I'd definately recommend this unit, based on my experiences.
