Title: LinkStation constantly loses IP address
Post by: hyp0r on November 10, 2008, 01:23:30 PM
My LinkStation is always getting disconnected from the network. When I look in the NAS Navigator it informs me that the IP address needs to be reset. I choose to reset the IP address but this usually fails, then I kill the NAS Navigator (from the task manager) and reopen it. I attempt to reset the IP address again, this usually works. Is there a way to get my LinkStation to just stay on the network all the time without this hassle?

How about just setting a static IP address? Open the GUI of the linkstation Network => Set Automatic via DHCP to disable and enter in the IP, Subnet, Gateway and DNS addresses manually.

Good idea, but I've already tried that an I had similar problems where I'd have to restart the LinkStation.

Flash the firmware to the latest version, then set the unit back to factory defaults.  If this does not resolve it then contact support and get an RMA
