Title: iTunes changing folder location
Post by: fasteddie84 on October 10, 2009, 04:53:19 AM

Hi there

I have a LinkStation Pro Duo (ls-wtgl-r1) and has been working fine with iTunes for awhile now but all of a sudden, iTunes decides to changing the default location of my music to my laptop.

I currently have my iTunes music located on my LS under the folder Z:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music but it decides to change it everytime to C:\Users\Edward\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music.  Everytime I update iTunes to the LS, and then turn off my laptop and LS, it decides to revert back to the C drive.

I know that if you don't have the LS up and running before iTunes then it will revert to the default location but I have tried doing this and no go.

Anyone know the answer?

Is it that iTunes have upgraded their software to automatically detect if the LS is running, everytime you fire up your laptop even if you have no intention of using iTunes? I am using iTunes 9.0.1.8

Thanks in advance

Right, done some research and it looks like iTunes 9 is a load of pants so downgraded to iTunes 8.2.1.6 and all seems to be working fine now.

Here is the place to download it from:

http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php?old_itunes=46#Download

All you need to do is find your libary file and then rename it and place in a previous one.  Once you have done that, uninstall iTunes and install the desired version.
