troubleshooting has revealed the following:

LS-CHL web access problems:

1) Folders with web access settings "use inherited folder permissions" are restricted from any write privileges.  Access restrictions include appropriate users.

2) when web access setting is loosened to "allow all users/groups" all write privileges are active.

LS-CHL FTP problems:

1) folders only permitted write privileges when shared folder's access permissions is removed.  When access permission is checked, no user is permitted write access.  All users are listed in the folder's access restriction box.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?!?!

I am thinking that you are already logged in as a user.  try disconnecting from all mapped shares on a particular computer, rebooting the computer, then resetting and setting back up the LS with access permissions.  If all of this still doesnt work let me know and I will do some testing for you.

To help with further diagnostics.  Write to LAN drives are not permitted with folder restrictions.

No mapped drives.

Login to LS drives through NASNavigator 2.18, login successfully through a windows login window, all files are available, but write access is not permitted when folder restriction is checked.  Uncheck folder restrictions write access is restored.

Could it be a firmware problem, as write permission seems to be the thread of the problem from FTP, to webaccess (through BuffaloNAS), and LAN drives when folder permission is checked.
