Title: Hardware Replacement Qs (out of warrenty)

Our TeraStation Pro II is out of warrenty.  We purchased it with the understanding that it would perform function X, and found out later that it does not perform function X.

 

So, that being said, if a HDD fails or a part goes bad, can new parts be purchased from you to get the device back up and running?

 

Next question is, if the software or OS on the device is altered (ours has not been, but we have considered it), can it ever be returned to factory defaults (even if for a fee or a purchase of a new motherboard or something)?

We don't sell any parts or have service instructions on our devices.  If a drive fails you can simple replace it with another similar spec one ex 500gig 7200rpm 8mb cache.  To bring it back to factory defaults once you mess with the os isn't supported.  It's possible, but i heard it's pretty hard after installing something else on there to restore.

You don't have any sort of refurbishing process where you take a machine and blank it back to factory default?

Actually, I should furthor clarify that question:  You do not sell any sort of refurbishment process for devices that fail and no longer boot?

 

For example:  If our terastation stops booting and we, as the customer, haven't made any changes to it we still cannot pay Buffalo to fix it?
