Gday

I am looking for instructions on replacing my hardrive which the 320gb unit that came with my link station with a 1tb unit. Can some tell me where I can get Buffalo instructions to do this  ? I am not worried about voiding the warranty and physically have replaced the drive but are having issues getting it working  ?

Thanks for any help

Nothing we have to take our devices apart.  But i think a google search might help you.

Gday

Thanks for for the fast reply , checked Google out before posting nothing very specific for  my model I am afraid :smileysad:

I can physically remove and replace the drive  no worries at all ,but can't get my linkstation to  see the drive. My question is should I reinstall the base firmware. I have also tried the reset button on the unit as well and what if  the new drive has already been formatted in say ntfs does it matter ?

Make sure there are no partitions on your 1TB hdd.

Download TFTboot for your model.

Download Nas Navigator & install it.

Download latest firmware for yourBuffalo model.

Set IP address on your computer to 192.168.11.1

Run tftpboot.exe.

Press the reset button on the back while powering on the drive.

After while, 2 msgs will appear at the bottom of the black cmd window.

Wait while then run nas navigator.

Once Nas Navigator detects your unit, you can close the black window.

Proceed to update your firmware.

After firmwre update, you can use the drive as normal.
