Title: Can'y Backup with Time Machine Since Snow Leopard
Post by: Giant_Squid on October 08, 2009, 04:49:11 PM

Hello. Ever since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, the Time Machine backup feature doesn't work. It's been almost a month and I am concerned that Buffalo hasn't released a patch yet. Does anyone know of a workaround? I really need to backup my files soon.

Thanks.

When inquiring about a product please include a model number

   My apologies. It's a LinkStation Quad, LS-Q2.OTL/RS according to the NASNavigator 2.

Are you getting a particular error message when trying to backup or is it just not showing as a destination (ie not finding it)?  Also what firmware are you running?  As far as I know (I haven't personally tested it yet) Snow Leopard, time machine and the quad should work fine together.

Yes I am getting an error message: Time Machine Could Not Complete the Backup, the backup disk is not available. The firmware version is 1.02.

It worked just fine before, this developed after Snow Leopard.

Thanks;

Try updating the firmware, I will see if I can do some testing.

According to the downloads section, I have the latest version of the firmware for the Mac OS, 1.02.

Do you have a PC you could update it with?

In a way, yes. I restarted under Bootcamp with WindowsXP, but the computer wont even recognize the LinkStation, it doesn't show up under NasNavigator2.

Our Japanese engineers are requesting screenshots of all error screens. If you will do this, please send to me at memoryman@buffalotech.com

Have you resetup Time Machine and the backup drive after installing Snow Leopard? After installing Snow Leopard, you need to set up the installation like it was the first time for setup.
