I´m sorry, but I had fingertrouble and I closed the thread in error.

Here once again...

I´ve the same problem with my european LS-Duo. I have only FTP-Access. Seems that samba killed the shares... How can I recreate them ? The funny thing is, that it´s possible to use buffalonas...

I tried already to reboot all components without success... =8-{

I changed the hostname of the drive, I set up the permissions again and again. I tried everything without result. XP SP3 and XP SP1 always tells the same to me:

   Just tried to do the update again. No chance, updater tells me, that there is the actual version already and there is no need for an update...   *gnarf*

Hi Peter,

Any data inside the LS Pro Duo?

Did you have a copy of the data inside the LS Pro Duo?

You might need to do a debug mode firmware flash on the LS Pro Duo.

1st, open up the folder containing the LS Pro Duo firmware.

Look for this LSupdater.ini

Open it up using notepad.

After this lines

[Flags]

VersionCheck = 1

add in this lines

[SpecialFlags]

Debug = 1

Save & close it.

Run LSupdater.exe again.

On thetop where it says BUFFALO LS-WTGL Updater Ver.3.09,

use your mouse and right-click.

and click on Debug.

Look for the Config box.

Tick everything inside the Config box.

Do not meddle with the rest of the other boxes settings!

Then click on OK

Then click on Update.

Pls make sure the data inside the LS Pro Duo is not needed ot no data because doing this will wipe out everything inside the LS Pro Duo.

Regards,

TJL

Thanks for the tip, will buy a second backup-drive for the data. The LS contains my backup !!!  About 500GB... I must not understand. Is this usual for this drive. If so, I have to get rid of it...    Pete

Hi Peter,

Another way to backup your drive is to plug it into a linux machine.

It will mount the drive and you will see 3-4 drives. The drive with the biggest capacity contains your share folders and thats where you can transfer the data to another USB drive.

Be warned. Opening up the LS will void your warranty.

Good luck!

I load the data down by ftp, no prob...  it would be much more interesting, when such a breakdown will happen again, and under what conditions... ?    Tx, Pete

This was the solution...       Debug-Mode...

No data was destroyed, it took several tries to login. Ten to fifteen times I had to repeat the loginprocedure, and suddenly it told me, that it´s not necessary to make an upload... but something was different (don´t know what...).

I tried to bind a share and tataaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!     It works....

Sowhat !

Many thanks to U all

  Peter
